What a beautiful book! I’ve noticed some reviewers go right into discussing whether they agree with Bringhurst or not, straight to the subjective matter. Perhaps he was betrayed in this printing? I think it was obvious the design was made with the hardback version in mind; the paperback seems an afterthought. Except probably your friends are like mine and wouldn’t recognize a pf if it bit them on the serif, which is why this book inspires so much devotion.
You will use brinyhurst as well as style, rules as well as breaking of rules – and ultimately, science and art are both required to stimulate the mind of your audience.
